TriStar is very proud to welcome you to the Georgison Farms photo gallery. Georgison Farms is another farm in Manitoba to be milking with the DeLaval VMS. The unique thing about this project is the fact that the barn is specifically designed for the 3 robots it houses. The barn also has a unique natural / controlled ventilation system (Ventec)

The barn was built through the winter as you can see in this image. Even through the chilly temperatures, the barn progressed and took shape fast!

Shown in this image is the 6 foot cyclone fans that are used to circulate fresh air and push bad air out the side openings in the walls. The fans, even though 6 feet in diameter are incredibly quiet. These fans, supplied by Ventec are part of the natural / controlled ventilation system that was specifically designed for this facility.

Here is a picture taken from the inside of the barn before any cows were in it. Shown is one quadrant of the barn that will milk approx. 60 of the approx. 180 cows.

Shown here is one section of the openings located all around the entire barn. The opening is covered up with a square membrane bag called polymat. This polymath also comes from Ventec. The polymat together with the cyclone fans are what create the natural / controlled ventilation system.

Here is another image of the polymat openings which allow fresh air to enter the barn from all sides of the building. These openings are available in a variety of sizes and lengths. And yes the openings are closed up with the polymat membrane curtains. Actuators and small motors control the opening and closing of the curtains through temperature and rain levels.

Here is the openings shown from a different perspective. The outside! This picture gives you a good look at the membrane curtain in its collapsed position. If the weather is favourable, the curtains will drop allowing a bunch of air and natural sunlight.

Once again, here is a picture from the outside of the barn. Another unique feature that this membrane curtain has is the transparency of light it provides even when the curtain is closed. The curtains provide 90% natural sunlight which is very crucial in a dairy barn.

Shown here is the manure equipment supplied by Jamesway. As a supplier for TriStar, Jamesway has the knowledge and experience to apply unique manure applications to different operations according to their needs.

Here is Georgison’s brand new 4000 gallon DeLaval milk cooler. This tank is equipped with DeLaval’s all new front mount cooling and washing control system. No more jars to fill; Auto dosing is standard on all of these tanks, as is pre-cooling, pre-start and delayed multiple condenser start-up. These tanks have a seamless high grit finish and are definitely the best built tanks on the market.

This image shows a calf barn that was built with TriStar’s custom built calf pens. These pens are built strong and durable so they will last for years to come. This calf barn was designed for new born calves that will be moved to a different area after weaning takes place.

Shown here is the back of the barn where the feed room is located. The feed room is separate from the dairy barn allowing the ventilation in the dairy barn to work properly. This feed room is quite large allowing a big separate work space for creating the feed for the dairy cows.
